DIY Wicked Halloween Crystal Ball

One of my favorite times of the year is almost here: Halloween! Every year I try to make a few new decor pieces to add to my collection. My collection seemed to be missing a Crystal Ball!!  So I took a little trip to the dollar store and picked up a couple of items. I had already envisioned what I wanted my crystal ball to look like: I love Wicked and knew my crystal ball had to be green and with some image of a green witch. So let’s start the crafty process, shall we? I purchased the globe glass vase and oil burner from the Dollartree.

(don’t mind the hot glue on the oil burner, I had started to work and had forgotten to take a pic!)

I had the glow in the dark Neon Green paint in my crafting “warehouse” ( I have so many crafting supplies, I can actually open a warehouse!)

I painted the globe with a thin coating of the green paint. As you can see from the picture above I had already added hot glue to the oil burner. The purpose: to add an “antiquey” feel to it.  After I was done with that part, I gold leafed the oil burner with one of my favorite products ever:

After the paint had dried on both the glass vase and oil burner, I went online in search of an image of a “Wicked Witch” and I found the most beautiful image here

I fell in love with it right away and gauged the size I needed to fit inside the vase. I scaled it down in Photoshop to a 4×4 and printed. ( My printer was running low on ink and it added some lines which I happened to like!)

And below is the final product, my beautiful Wicked Crystal ball ( and I added an led tea light inside to add more glow to it, I didn’t hot glue the vase to the oil burner base so I can replace the tea light when needed)
